How doo.

Got a PCN ticket this afternoon from the lovely Birmingham City Council.

At our Brum office there is no parking and everyone tends to park on the main road, now there are restrictions of 2 hours, so everyone including myself moves their cars before the 2 hours are up.

Now, I moved mine just before half 4 as I normally do, there were several parking spaces in front of mine so I moved it up 4 spaces.

The ticket I have says I was observed from 16:31 - 16:42 a grand total of 11 minutes, now I know I moved the car just before half past so he must have witnessed me moving up 4 spaces and then decided to ticket me.

As it is a 2 hour time limit surely he would have needed to have picture evidence of me in the same space for over 2 hours? This ticket states the 11 minutes that he observed the car in the same space but surely I wasn't breaching any restrictions until 18:31?

Have I got a hope in hell of challenging?

Muchos gracias.

Does the sign say "no return within X hours"

However If there are no restrictions for parking there for 11 mins. I'd wait a few days then go to their office and ask why you were ticketed

Not that I've noticed no, no parking for more than 2 hours between 9 and 6.30, usual stuff.

The only way to challenge it is on-line apparently, they don't have a number to call :/

Ask for the photo evidence. That will show where the vehicle was positioned.

They will side with their blue meanie before their own citizen, be warned.

I've just Google street viewed and there is a sign saying 'no return within 4 hours'

Mofo's :(

Still though, wouldn't he have needed to clock me 4 hours before that time to then have a case that I was still in the area? He must have seen me move the car up 4 spaces waited 11 minutes and the ticketed me!

Either way I'm going to drag him into the car, gaffa tape him and bury him in Cannock Chase.

You can see it on-line 24 hours after apparently, I'll wait and see what evidence they have.

Thanks for the input dudes.

sorry to hear this dude :( that sucks! could still try to challenge it, as you said, he would have had to have record of your car being there for 2 hours prior...if he only saw you moving it for all he knows you could have only been there for 10 mins before and moved the car for a more favorable spot for what ever reason :p

chances are pretty damn slim that they'll drop it... but if you do challenge it you get an extension on the time to pay the reduced price on the ticket so why not xD

Should bribe him with cookies.

I'm guessing this may make parking difficult now in the future for work, since it may happen on a repeat basis?

yea that's gunna suck! a good few years back when I was in uni I missed the bus so drove and parked up close to the uni in a quiet area (I say quiet....lots of student/residential houses but not that much through traffic). Granted it was my fault for parking too close to a junction (within 10m or what ever) but when I got back to my car I was the only one on the street with a ticket and there were cars parked worse than me, i.e. behind be so closer to the junction, on the actual corner bend of the junction and along the narrow road, on the curb and double yellows within the junction. they didn't get tickets and it was only an hour lecture :( just bad luck for silly parking  still miffed that no one else got ticketed because I know that most of the cars parked stupid were there before and after I parked/drove away

Wait for photos to show online.

If it shows your car in 2 different spaces, pay up.

If it shows your car in a singe space for 11 minutes, contest it.

Sounds more like it was residents parking...
