PCP question

Probably a really daft question but I'm eyeing up replacing my 7 year old 62k miles i20. Partly because I like shiny things, I'd like some mod cons and because I'd like to switch it out while it's still worth something.

There's a few decent 0% PCP deals popping up at the moment which are enticing me but my question is when it comes to the annual mileage.

I currently do approx. 12k a year which isn't going to change any time soon. Obviously if I bump the PCP mileage up to 15k the monthly goes up a fair bit from the standard 10k but is there anything stopping me selecting 5k miles getting a nice cheap monthly and just soaking up the approx. £1k excess mileage charge at the end which works out to be around £25 p/m over the PCP a lot less than bumping it up to 15k miles.

I'd probably just end up buying the car at the end anyway but just wanted to check if I'm missing anything if I did want to hand it back.

The excess mileage charge only comes into the PCP if you're handing the car back. So you could just pay it and walk away or if you're buying the car it doesn't matter at all.

Lovely that's what I thought, just wasn't sure I was missing something glaringly obvious :o
