Hi,

How can I calculate (approx) how much electric my PC uses, especially when its on for hours n hours..

I wonder if anyone has done this, and if they have how did they manage to acheive it and how accurate they were?

Thanks

Really simple to calculate electricity usage once you work out the idle and load power draw, which a meter can do (or you can use an online PSU calculator).

Multiply the wattage figure you get by the number of hours the PC is on.

Example: 250W x 8 hours = 2000W = 2Kwh (which is the units electricity companies use for charging purposes). 1Kwh is around 10p here, so 10 x 2 = 20p.

cooooool

do you know any decent online PSU calculators, I realise google is my friend but I would like to find a decent one, preferably one someone has used and knows is accurate as opposed to something which a aload of crap

cheers
