PDA: Diary Replacement & Other Software Recommendations

I have bought a Dell Axim X50v and was hoping it would offer an alternative to my paper diary. The bonus being the PDA is much quicker when searching for data I need/want.

Currently when booking clients into the diary I write down:

Time/Date
Name
Address
Phone Number
Short job description of what I need to do.

My PDA is running WM2003SE. I don't really think the appointment feature is the one I am looking for.

Under "atendees" it only allows me to select people who I have stored email addresses for.

Can anybody recommend (pref. free) a good diary replacement software?

Also, I am open to any suggestions for good software whatever it's use.

I knew of one, but it has escaped me. I'm also kinda looking for something you describe, but I need to expand a bit more on the "tasks" feature. I end up putting project deadlines on the calender as a meeting in stead etc, which kinda sucks

I use Pocket Informant , it's not free ($24.95) but it does everything I need.

Can you highlight a range of dates, and add a task to them?
