I'm wondering if someone can point me in the right direction as i know very little about PDA's. My girl would like a PDA for her birthday but i'm pretty sure she only wants very basic functionality.

She currently has a regular pen and paper diary, so a PDA where she can put her appointments, alarms for meetings, reminders, the shopping list etc is what she's after.

Is there any PDA you can recommend to me?

Thanks

Viks

She already has a phone so it would just be overkill. Plus she'd then have another contract etc ...

Thanks for the suggestion though

As much as I'm begrudged to say this, maybe an iPhone (payg) or evena an ipod touch might do the job?

As to the already has a phone, easy, sling a payg sim in that and use on nights out, get a real phone such as the htc diamond (example) contract free and use with current contract, although the diamond might be a tad pricey.

If I was to be buying a pda now it would be one with a mobile phone attached, I have a fujitsu siemens n520 pda and its basically stuck in the house these days unless I need it's gps, its a hassle having 2 devices plus it doesn't really last a whole day where as my phone does. I'll hopefully be upgrading my phone to an xperia x1 when its released which will replace any need for my pda.

If you wanted to get a decent pda/phone with a fair price I would look at the sony ericsson g900 (about 290-300 sim free) or maybe an older p1i/w960i etc, they all uses symbian os, have touchscreen and should last a whole day etc.

If you can live without touchscreen then theres things like the hp ip514 and samsung i610 both of which run windows mobile and can happily sync with most ms apps :)
