Hiya all,

Thinking of looking into a bit of an all round solution and hoping you guys can help.

Basically need a Mobile Phone, with a decent computer side to it.

ideally :-

Bluetooth
Wireless
nice sized screen ( 3x2" or so? )
comes with a belt pack of some type - I expect to use a bluetooth headset for for phone calls.
IM support
E:mail support

Be nice if it had the capability for an on screen keyboard.

Now I know these aren't going to be in a normal phone sized package, hence the bluetooth side, and don't even know if such a device exists.. hence turning to you guys :).

Yep, will do msn and I'm sure you can get something to do yahoo.

But on the phone front if you going to be using it as a pda then I would go for an MDA pro, as its a lot faster and got 3G so will be fast net access. I would get it on one of t-mabile Web and walk tariffs with that you get unlimeted web for £7.50 a month, and with it being 3G its almost as fast as broadband.

Hope that helps.

Thanks - been looking around and the Orange SPV M5000 Looks interesting too although perhaps a bit big, the slid keyboard on the Vario is nicer IMO.

I have the Imate Jam and the XDA Exec.
I am waiting for the Vario 2 - it is the bees knees. Due out in a month or two and I'll be getting it on T-Mobile for the uber cheap data rates, unlimited £7.50 per month.
If however you want a larger screen go for the Exec (MDA Pro). My only caveat is the battery life on these devices is not that great especially when using Bluetooth, Wifi etc.

I think the vario 2 is the perfect blend of size and features, next best has to be the MDA pro.
What does the Vario 2 have that the origonal doesn't?

Mmm if I read that right the Vario 2 will have 3G which was about the only major difference in terms of features between the other two...

Think I'll wait and get that :).

Exec keyboard is very useable, I would imagine more useable than the Vario or vario2 simply because it is a bit larger and likely to have a more stable base to rest upon.

However the exec doesn't go out with me very often because it si simply too large. Amazing bit of kit though.

Useable probably wasn't the best word.. practical is more accurate.

As you say the Exec is larger and thus less phone like. From my PoV the Vario are phones with a KB and PDA functionality. The Exec is more a small PDA with phone functionality. If that makes sense :/
