Hey there guys and Gals

Im looking for a PDA phone fo viewing an online booking system for a chauffeur company. It's designed so the drivers can click on an option to tell HQ what part of the Journey they are at. It is made using PHP.

I am looking for a suitable PDA phone that will do this and also call and recieve e-mails. It would be nice to have a few other good things.

I have looked at the O2 XDA Mini S and this looks to be a winner so far. The company is currently on Orange so discounts can be gotten if on Orange. Please also bare in mind that 25+ will be purchased.

Can you recomend some good ones for me to have a look at.

Cheers.

Think you've answered your own question.

Go for the QTek 9100 which IIRC is the Orange version of the iMate K Jam AKA 02 XDA Mini, MDA Vario etc

The SE m600i might be another option - touch screen, quite small, big screen, 3g however no wifi, but then again if you are using it in a car you'd probably need 3g for the internet.

I noticed that when I saw the Qtek 9100 it's the same as XDA Mini S Darn Branding.

m600i is not a PDA from as far as I can see. Looks like a normal phone TBH. But then again I forgot to mention having a stylus is key. Has it got a stylus?

Well I off to see some demos in a few days at shops so I'll see what that turns up.

how about the orange spv m600? wifi, no edge wm5, not huge also should be free, mine was and I only bought 1

Looked at that one, Don't really like the look and is hard to find a good car kit for it, well that can be installed in 40 Cars. Also it is not GPRS as far as I can tell, and seen as though it will be used in a car would be pointless.

the spvm600 has got gprs and edge but no 3g.

have you looked at brodit car kits? you can get bluetooth handsfree csr kits. I've seen a few car kits around. the imate jam/jamin kits fit it so I bet you can get one that's suitable

The SE m600i has a touchscreen with stylus. It comes with Opera 8 as its main web-browser. It's very small for a PDA, which is a good thing if you want to keep it in your pocket but not so good if you're expecting the kind of screen size you'd see on a HTC Universal.

Web-browsing on it is fine though and the fact that it's a 3G phone makes a big difference.

Regarding the app that you'll be using, isn't it possible to integrate this with a GPS based system to allow real-time tracking of your limos? If you're going for that, anything with a Co-Pilot will do nicely.

Depending on the level of interaction you require, are you looking at keyboard or not? Inputting anything more than a word of text without a keyboard to a device sat in a car kit can be quite difficult.

It will be used as a phone as well as a PDA, will need a keyboard as it will be used for wirting e-mails and imputting data into the system.

@ Alasdair: They aint limos, if the boss heard you say that you would have no head. ;)
