Have had to give back my xda and go back to a normal phone so i need a pda. Budget is flexiable but as little possible, must have wireless and bluetooth and windows prefered but not essentail.

Anybody got any reccomendations?

if i go windows need to decide if wireless is really needed as a non wireless pda can be had damn cheap.

Whats so good about the TX? I take it even with the meagre specs it flies on palmOS.

Edit after further investigation the TX looks pretty good for the money

I Just bought a Ipaq 4150, It as bluetooth and WiFi came boxed as new with a spare battery and proporta metal case for £62 delivered from the bay.

My advice is to check out the bay :)

HP IPAQ HX4700
Had mine for a good couple of years now and still going strong even though it gets used nearly every day.
Actually its going even stronger now I hacked it and put Windows mobile 5 on it :D Got a 16Gb CF card for it a few weeks back for £35 and loving all the extra storage space :D

went from a selection of windows based models to a palm TX

never looked back

How does the palm os compare? Windows mobile is so tiresome now, it's feels as if they just ported xp onto a pda and put no thought into it's design at all. Awful explorer navigation, crap user input, bad browser, slowdowns, horrendous media support, loads of messing about to do one thing. I can actually appreciate why some people use macs with how bad windows mobile is.

might make do with old phone, just got MFE working on my old N80 and it covers 90% of the reasons why i used the xda.

Used to do the occaisonal report or expenses sheet on there but i might have to give up on that :(

My Windows mobile 5 flys on my hx4700 once tweaked with sdk tools. (Even @ default it was pretty snappy)
Personally I love windows mobile and haven't experienced any of the problems you described.

We bought in a load of HTC Tytns last year and barring one iffy touch screen, they are all running modified wm6 roms and are going great, Id love to get my hands on a newer model though.
