Christmas is finally here :D:D:D

The start of the world darts marks the start of christmas to me like nothing else. Cue 3 weeks of top darts, drunk fans, silly costumes and mocking chants along the lines of "Boring boring tables", followed by such retorts as "We pay your benefits".

MVG is the shortest price he's ever been this year and it's hard to see past him, although his record in this is nowhere near as good as his form over the last couple of years would suggest. His record this year has been mind blowing. He's won all the below just this year

UK Open Qualifier 2 (Wigan, February 6)

I think his only real competitor is recent double world champ Gary Anderson, although I think even he may find beating MVG a task too far this year. MVG to cruise to an easy title win for me.

I just hope it's a good tourney with plenty of 3 figure averages and at least a couple of magic 9 darters. Kicks off on sky tonight at 7pm.

I've watched darts on and off over the last couple of years but the highlight for me was watching MvG almost hitting back to back 9 darters :D

Some good matches past couple of days. MvG-Reyes probably the best I've seen since MvG-RvB last year. "Unlucky" is maybe the wrong way to describe Reyes because he was beaten by the best player in the world, but ignoring the first set he was playing well enough to beat him on a different day. The crowd really warmed to Reyes after about 4 sets, very very rare to hear the crowd chanting for a relatively low ranked foreigner against a traditional crowd pleaser.

Anderson-BvdP also high quality, especially the finishing early on (GA 8/8, BvdP 5/6).

Not normally one to predict a match going the full distance but AL-RvB just had that air about it, heck even the bookies had them priced at 10/11 apiece generally.

I've backed Peter Wright each way this year as he has been playing very solid in recent months, he also has a relatively easy draw (compared to say the quarter Lewis was in which just seemed an absolute minefield with the likes of Cadby, Barney, Taylor etc).

I thought I couldn't watch this as we don't pay for the sky sports package, just turned onto skysports mix and noticed it was showing the darts live. Looking forward to Anderson v Wright.

Anderson will probably smash into this deciding leg like he has twice already.

2 x 180s inbound :p

Massive set for Wright, we're all square! 3-3.
