PDF Creator

I have just saved a pdf of the same file [a document with a fair amount of formatting and images] using CutePDF, PDFCreator and Word 2010's own PDF option.

The original .doc file is 2123 KB.

PDFCreator created a 782 KB pdf.
Word 2010 created a 1.47 MB pdf!
CutePDF created a 1.94 MB pdf!!!

I can see no discernable difference in quality between any of them, and I can highlight and copy text without issue in all of them.

PDFCreator is my first choice and this confirms it! One document is not a very rigorous test I know, but at almost triple the size, CutePDF can sod off :p

i like dopdf which is free pdf printer application that is the free version of the infamous novapdf which has now changed its name.

but for pdf editing i recently found this cool app called pdf24 which allows you to edit pdfs nicely and it is free.

for viewing i like Sumatra pdf but it is not good for printing, so not ideal for office environments.

if you use adobe reader or foxit make sure you disable javascript.
