Pdf documents in My Documents file details missing

Can anyone help? - just moved all my documents into my new computer - and on my old computer pdf documents shown in any folder in My Documents when shown as an icon or tile, it would show a scaled down image of the front page in the Details side bar.... it stubbornly refuses to do so on my new computer. I can not work out how to do this as I have compared all the settings etc with the old and new and I can't see any difference in the way they are set up.... any help would be greatly appreciated......

do you have acrobat installed?

in explorer.. tools, options, 'show previews & filters'

Yes I have Acrobat Reader 8.0 and Acrobat Professional 6.0

I am running Windows XP and I can't see in Windows Explorer under tools and folder options, view anything that says 'show previews & filters'

it's the opposite of 'classic folders' (in the same place, look around there)

also, check in Control Panel, System, Advanced, Peformance (tab) and check previews aren't disabled

in my system there is no check box for previews!

thanks for your help with this ( your memory is good unlike mine!) - I have looked everywhere - it is really bugging me!
