I remember seeing a program very recently on tv (can't remember the chanel) about the petrol doller. The program talked about a consipracy that Saddam was trying to bring down the US petrol dollar hold by trading Iraq's oil in Euro's.

You can call Iraq wanting to trade its oil in € thus taking money from the US a consipracy.

Opec agreed to sell the worlds oil in US $ only in the 70s, Iran wants to let the world trade its oil in € in Iran.

Whats happening to Iran in the media, OMFG WTF atom bombs, public executions.

The US has somting like 50 Trillion $ worth of debt, if the oil goes the whole American army/export/ way of life goes.

Bought myself a book on this yesterday funnilty enough - "The long emergency" by J Howard Kuntsler. Only 60 or so pages in but I'd definitely recommend it.
