So, I have 35KG of pears and about the same still on the tree in the garden. What shall I do with them? Ideally stuff that'll keep for a while.

Apart form crumbles and pies.

Cut the tops off a few then dig the core out, Fill the core with summit like currants & raisins or strawberries, Sprinkle brown sugar over the top & then bake them, Nomtastic.

How long will 70kg of these take to eat though :p

I missed the bit that said "They must keep for a while" :o + :p
My recipe is for about 4 of them & if you eat 2 it would be more than enough.

I'd stick a basket of them & a tin for money out on my drive & let the neighbours dig in.

Eating them is nice :)
Or set up a stool and sell them.

I doubt you have tasted a pear which has been grown on a tree in someone's garden in the UK, they aren't sweet at all, the reason why most fruit in your local supermarket comes from special farm's or abroad.

Your best bet is making pear juice and adding honey to it or something.
