Currently using the rig below and considering an upgrade...

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 6000 3.00GHz
Noctua NH-U12P CPU Cooler
Enermax Infiniti 650W EIN650AWT
Thermaltake VA8003BWS Armour Super Tower
BFG GeForce 8800 GTX OC 768MB GDDR3
OCZ Gold Edition 4GB (2x2GB) PC2-6400C5

- Will use mostly for gaming ie. FS X
- Budget: circa £1000, hope to fund some of this through sale of above items

Thought about going crazy on following

or salvage some of existing gear and combine with the following...

open to discussion and suggestions, thanks in advance guys

You gone for triple channel memory, you need dual ideally.

The PSU can be dropped to 750w, this will be enough for dual gpu's.

save some money and get a 6950, and then just flash it so its a 6970?

How serious is the problem with Sandy Bridge boards?

In terms of playing FS X, would there be much difference if I went down the AMD quadcore route?

dont worry about the problem something like less than 5% are affected
