Just recived a letter charging me a £50 fine for
Failing to comply with a sign indicating a prohibited turn (50jr)

So i tured right where i wasnt supposed to, this occured on the 1st of August, only just got the letter today.

The annoying thing is that i only had 14 days to pay up otherwise the fine would increase from £50 to £100. Its like they wanted me to pay more by not letting me recive the letter till this late!

Also, i cant belive they have cameras for this, it looks as if its a permenent camera as it was shot from the air (they were kind enough to provide me with a picture).

Anyone know of this junction/road - Oldfield Lane North, Juction of Currey Road, Ub6? (thats where i got my fine)

Ah well its all paid off now, i now hate Ealing, and i did not do this turn on purpose, unfair :(

The car just turned itself? ;)

Is it not 14 days from the date you recieve the letter, rather than date of offence?

14 days from receipt of letter/date of letter, not from when you did it lol.

You turned right when you weren't supposed to, not the council's fault!!

It's shocking to know they spend money on cameras to spot this kind of thing!

You should have said a lorry had broken down the other direction and was blocking the road :/ Could have worked... what they gonna do - fine you for lying too? :p

probs a cctv camera, jobsworthy camera operator spotted you.

Haha, in my head I've got an image of a clichéd movie scene "Not on my watch"

Seems a bit harsh though, who issued the fine, the council or police?

The Ealing Council gave it me, i've had better presents!

Even though its my fault it was a total accident.

For those who say its your fault blah blah... just you wait till you get one one day, and see if your still perfect then:p

If i turned right at a "no right turn" sign, and got caught, then i'd think it was my own fault.

If I somehow did not notice it was no right turn, i'd think I wasn't concentrating properly.

When I got points for speeding, it was no one elses fault but my own, I didn't blame the policeman for catching me, that's his job and I was driving faster than I should...

Explain how you turn right by accident!? :p

Whoops, I appear to have accidentally checked my mirrors, signalled, slowed down, looked where I was going, checked the mirrors again, rotated the wheel and made the turn...

... all by COMPLETE accident.

Where were you driving? Cloud 9?

Oi posters above, stop being so harsh!

It was mistake, i'm sure a majority of people do have lapses in concentration.

Just wanted to complain a little about my misfortunes hadnt blamed anyone, and still think that such a fine is a little unfair, as i personally never knew such a fine existed :(

Ah forget it!

Can this thread be closed pleased, its just a wee bit too serious. no need anymore, i'm feeling less vunreble and upset now!!

Didn't mean to be harsh to you mate, and yes we do all make mistakes, but the bit I had a problem with was that you think it is unfair of them to fine you because you didn't realise.

Mal :)

Ealing is a dump. FACT.

Ealing thinks it's London when it's not, it's miles out. FACT.

Ealing has the same MINDLESS traffic management setups as the most stupid London councils like Lewisham and Lambeth that completely unnecessarily hold up cars causing congestion and make getting about impossible for no apparent reason other than they appear to have to waste money so their budgets don't reduce the next year. FACT.

I wasn't being harsh, i was genuinly intriguied as to how you managed it? Do you not know the area? Did you think you'd just get away with it? DRZ is fish-taking agreed, funny none-the-less :p.

Its ok above posters, i've stopped crying now!:D

I live in a humble town of Rugby, i have no idea where i was driving then, so was a bit confused as t where i was travelling.

Also no one else in that area gets fined there, i honestly think it was a one off! (source..i asked a few people i know there)

Thats me doing the crime!
