I was under the impression that with the penryn gen of C2D's that there be a true quad chip (ie not just 2 duel core dies in one package) but i read some ware (can't remember where off the top of my head) that this won't be the case .

I recently upgraded from a e6420 to a e6600 , why did i go for the q6600 beucse i was under the impressions that the penryn quad would be a native quad and so less power hungry and would most likely put out less heat than a 2 die quad. So im wondering will a 45nm penryn quad give me 4ghz with water that what im hoping ;)

so is 45nm the only thing penryn is different from "Kentsfield"??

if so, would a Kentsfield running at 3Ghz be the same as Penryn at 3Ghz?

in another word, has the architecture changed in Penryn?

theres more cache as well (6mb on the duels and 12mb on the quads), im slighly disapinted with the OC i have 3.55ghz with 1.45vcore on air (OCZ Vindicator cooler on installed mmy water setup yet) so i rather hoping i can get 4ghz min on a Penryn quad
