Gentleman, warm up your pocket books... Intel has set a launch date for its pricey Quad-Core "Penryn" line up for Nov. 11th. Here's what you can expect to pay before mark up:

I'm keeping my eye on the new Yorkfield prices, they seem very good chips.

I was contemplating an upgrade form my 3.4 E6600 to a Q6600 but im in no rush.

AND the 771 chips cost double what 775 ones cost :O

Xeon 771 3ghz = £450
E6850 775 3ghz = £200

Hopefully these will go into the Mac Pro, although ill have a Mac Book Pro by then lol

There is a new Quad Extreme coming out at the end of this year. Based on the Penryn 45nm die shrink.

QX6950 clocked at 3.33Ghz.

Projected price - $1000 USD
