Penryn Serious Overclocking

since then that guy(didn't read the article, just title so assuming it was fugger) did 5.8Ghz, and shimano did 6Ghz. means nothing, a £2000 2000w cooling system thats stupidly heavy, incredibly loud, uses basically industrial cooling. you can add extra cpu's/sockets/better mobo's for cheaper, that requires less power to run than a triple stage cascade and is significantly faster for any REAL usage. for benchmarks that only run with one physical cpu, sure, its great value :p

meh, if 3dmark had to have a verified 2 hour prime run lead in to the benchmark, which could only be run with a default .ini file and driver setup it would actually be interesting. because most benchmark systems would be pretty much 24/7 stable, and we'd actually get a good picture of which mobo's, memory, psu's were the best. right now 3dmark just tells us whose spent the most on their cooling system, or is a plumber with free time or is being paid to overclock.
