Penryn "Wolfdale" First tests - Not Impressed

I'm mainly interested to see if they are able to work on older chipsets like the P965 etc?

The boys at ASUS have it covered :)

Well expecting anything at all from you is pretty optimistic, since all you've added to this thread is yet another "it's only a die shrink" comment and some sarcastic "" smilies.

:)

Concorde has a point I feel people are expecting too much from this chip.

I have to admit, i'm happy with the way Penryn has turned out.

New process, temperature drop, and 5-10% extra performance.

Hopefully AMD's new Barcelona chips can close some of the gap, make the CPU market nice and competitive for the first time since C2D launched. :)

Very true, I'm worried that if AMD lose everything, Intel may start to slack a bit. But if they're good to their customers I'm sure Intel will continue making awesome CPUs.

Who knows.
