Im looking for opinions on Pentax, are they any good in general, are they a respected camera manufacturer ? The names familiar as in ive heard of them but never really known what they produce.

Ive been looking for a new camera with certain features
* I wanted it to be compact and pocketable - Ruling out big bulky cameras with bumps and curves and long permanantly protruding lenses

* I wanted as good an optical zoom as possible in the above type/size camera.

* I wanted it to take SD/MMC cards so I can use a spare 1GB card I have already

* I want it to have a rechargeable battery and not use AA's

* I want it to last me a while so no cheap no name brands offering huge MP ratings for very little money etc... I want a quality camera

This is what I found:

This fills pretty much all of my needs, its reasonably small, it has a retractable zoom, it has a 5x optical zoom which is the best I could find in a camera like this and best of all I found it for £180 delivered saving about £40 - £80 cheaper than anywhere else just because it was missing its box.

Still waiting for it to arrive but just wanted to know if it was any good ?

Thanks for any advice
B.
