Pentaxian! K100D

Just in case anyone's interested, I've just ordered myself a Pentax K100D, with 18-55mm kit lens.

Hopefully get it towards the end of the week, then some pics to follow shortly.

Looking forward to my first DSLR.

I hjave a K100D to, and find it a great all round camera, especially for the price (though my eyes keep straying towards the new K10D). I'll admit that it diesn't focus as fast as the 400D (tried them side by side) but the feel of the 400D wasnt to my personal liking, plus I wanted the bulit in stabalisation after coming from a Panasonic Fz7, nto really got the money for the lenses with it inbuilt.

Pentax have some fine KAF2 lenses in the working, should be here Feb 2007, they really do look like nice, keep your eyes open.

I would be keen to hear what you think of it. I was thinking about getting a superzoom like the fujis but then look a bit further to a buget dSLR. At the moment if I go that route either Pentax or Oly are attractive. I used to have an Oly OM2 film slr so have a bit of an attachment to Oly but the Pentax looks very good at the moment and with the k10 and upcoming new lenses.

I tell ya what, that K10D and these lenses are tickling my pickle. Already invested in Nikon but a second system like that would be well worthwhile,...

LOL, I did fancy the K10D, but the finances didn't

Looking forward to getting the K100D, then I somehow need to finance a lense buying addiction

Hopefully have the camera end of this week / start of next. Place I ordered it in from is awaiting more in stock which should be tomorrow.
