A mate of mine has a pentium 4 1.9.
he says it says, DDR SD ram and he has one module of 256

what Ram can he buy from OCkers to upgrade to another 256 or 512 stick ?

p4 1.9s use single data rate ram or sd ram -http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/Crucial_Value.html
the 2 modules at the botton are sdram all the rest wont work as they are ddr modules

no the pc2100 are ddr modules you need sd ram which the bottom two are.i think these are the only two compatable sticks that ockers sell

I'm not convinced by the above. A P4 1.9 has a 400mhz FSB and is more than capable of running on DDR motherboards. To know what kind of RAM he can use, we need to know what chipset his motherboard is using.

In fact I'd be suprised if the motherboard doesn't support PC1600 or higher DDR. Assuming it does I'd simply add another 512meg of something cheap. e.g.

Crucial 512MB DDR PC3200 CAS3 (CT6464Z40B) (MY-024-CR)
which costs £28inc. PC3200 is backward compatible and can run at the slower PC1600 speed if necessary.
