I am moving from a Pentium 4 2.8ghz overclocked to 3.04ghz to a Core 2 Duo 1.6ghz E2140. Will i see any changes? I have 1gb ram, and will be doing some overclocking to around 2.4ghz. Thanks

The c2d at 2.4ghz will destroy a p4 @ 4ghz +
 
I had a P4 3.4GHz (Northwood), and went to a C2D E6600, and even at stock speed (2.40GHz) there was a very big improvement, especially in the likes of video encoding, unzipping (ie software that uses multicores), and with the E6600 @3.2 the improvement has to be experienced to be appreciated. ;)
