At the moment I am trying to put some of my wedding and old photos onto my PC to make up a video against music on windows movie maker. I have run into a snag though when taking the pictures of the pics themselves with my camcorder and digital camera; when putting them onto movie maker the quality is quite low and they are blurry. I am considering getting a scanner to scan the actual photos in, would that give a better result? I had a scanner a few years back and it was so slow I only ended up using it once! Will it work quicker with my pentium 940, 2gb DDR2 RAM 7800GTX machine? How long do you think it would take to scan 1 photo? Would a core 2 duo make a big difference?

Its all down to the scanner tbh, my Epson is dog slow on a high DPI setting can take ages to scan!

Some scanner software lets you scan more than one picture at a time, and saves them as seperate files- that'll at least double your speed :p

But yes, one 6x4 photo on my Canon scanner akes about 30-90seconds depending on resolution.
