A couple of questions here, since I've just realised that Pentium D's are actually dual cores!
Which would be quicker out of the 3.4GHz Pent D or the Core2Duo E6750 (running 2.66GHz) on a whole?
My dads current line of thinking is that the Pent D would be a slight upgrade over his Core2Duo, but I'm inclined to think that the C2D is newer tech and although it's a lower clock, will actually still be a bit quicker?
If the Pentium D IS quicker, I've read that I could stick the D straight into the current C2D mobo without an issue.
There will be no overclocks on either chip.
