What are the dual core Pentium D 8xx series like, i need a dual core system, but due to my location am limited to what i can get my hands on. And the main players who will deliver to me are using Intel stock.

So what are they really like, im not bothered about overclocking, or heat issues. As a processor what are they like.

Cheers

:)

Don't get one. They are slower, hotter and suck more juice than equivilent chips.

Get a 900-series Pentium D as they are *much* better. Or get an Athlon X2!

800-series was a hack and rushed to market.

I fully agree with NathanE

The P-D 800 series was a bit of an embarassment - the most expensive one being beaten by the cheapest X2!

The P-D 900 is a *huge* improvement. Far faster and great clockers too. Get either that or the X2
