I cannot run Conroe (*bursts into floods of tears*) and do not have the cash for a full motherboard upgrade (and it is a Dell, and I don't think they agree with full motherboard upgrades
)
I CAN however upgrade to a 3.4 GHz Pentium D - the main reason for me doing so would simply be to get a dual core system, which is much better in new games etc.
What I want to know however, is how fast the Pentium D 945 3.4 GHz really is.
What kind of benchmarks could I expect?
What kind of overall performance could I expect?
I know it is nothing like a Core 2, and that a Core 2 will rip it to shreds and then wee on it - but I simply cannot do Core 2 and so this is my best possible CPU upgrade....
Any responses would be much appreciated.....
