Still not sure on this one... At the moment I've got a 2.8ghz Pentium D, looking for a new board for it (as it's in a Dell box just now, which has to go) I believe that the Pentium D and Cores are both the same socket format, but that's as far as I've got- if I get a decent board now will I be able to replace the processor at a later date? Will that restrict my choices if I want to do it?

If it does work, which I think it should, any recommendations? I'm not penny pinching boards, makes no sense, so it's a pretty blank slate other than that it's got to be SLI-able and be a capable overclocker.

Any Conroe supporting board supports virtually all Pentium 4 D cpus as well. The Asus P5NSLI nForce 570 or the Asus P5N32-SLi SE Deluxe fits your bill.

Not the best choices of boards though, nvidia chipsets and Intel CPU's arent quite the combo that AMD and Nvidia is/was. if you looking for a conroe board, the Asus P5B/P5B deluxe or P5W DH Deluxe (if you want crossfire) would do nicely. Alternatively a gigabyte ds4/4/dq6 would be a good option.
