pentium D?

Hey guys, ive got an old system with a pentium d 820 and was thinking of using it in a new budget rig, kind of a secondary gaming rig and was wondering if any of you had any thoughts on its usefullness in current titles... will it be a bottleneck if placed with other newer components or will it still be up to task? thanks.

Ive not used that CPU for some time but it should be fine for the latest games, even more so if overclocked.

It will be ok, but seeing as the E2140 is soooo cheap (£35~), and easily hits 3.3GHz+ why waste time on old tech?

It's not a bottleneck just yet, however @ 4 ghz, it's about as fast as an athlon64 X2 @ 2.7 ghz and a core 2 duo @ 2 ghz, so one of them, definatly a c2d, would help a lot.
I'm upgrading to either an e2180 or a q6600 soon so might post the difference once I do it.

sounds promising. im building an e2140 rig as well just for the fun o/c potential i just thought why waste a semi decent processor? got a q6600 in my main rig so i aint gonna cry if the pentium doesnt set the world alight just playin around really.
