Pentium K - big bottleneck?

Should be fine if its clocked to 4.4ghz+ and depending on the game. I recently got one due to picking up a z97 board brand new for £40 and literally stuck the multiplier to 44 and it happily runs at 4.4ghz 24/7. Did get 4.6 but wasn't stable enough and can't be bothered tweaking!
Have to remember it is only a dual core though. Games like Far Cry 4 refuse to run on it I believe, unless you do some tweaking.

I'm not sure about COD, but BF4 multiplayer can get quite CPU intensive. So one of those pentium K will bottleneck a 970, the 760 may be ok due to it being a less powerful card.
The good thing about those Pentium Ks is that with the right motherboard they offer a good upgrade path to a 4770K / 4790K

yer i had a k at 4.2 and BF4 did load and run but at was hell to play. get an i3. i have 2 for the kids and there fantastic BF4 max setting with a 780

Yep for the rig in my sig. Previously I had a 4770K and a GTX780 but qhen cash was short they were sold, now looking to replace them

You're doing the right thing, the Pentium will bottleneck the 970 big time.
