So i've got 6 whole days with no work and my girlfriend is away on holiday. I think it's the first time in 12 years i've actually had a week completely to myself.

I was looking through my steam games list and noticed I had the Penumbra trilogy and Amnesia, I must have bought them on the cheap during 2009/10 steam sales at some point.

Did a little google and liked the sound of what what I read, these 4 games should fill up my week nicely.

I'm about an hour into Penumbra: Overture and it's brown pants time, it's an old game, looks dated but really immersive. I can see many hours this week playing through these games.

What are everyone else's thoughts on these games? Which are the best in the trilogy? Anything I should be aware of? Any graphics updates or similar?

They are all fantastic games, just play thought the series, no mods or anything needed, the graphics get better but tbh it doesn't really matter. Make sure you have enough stocks of toilet paper - they are the most scary games every made imo. :)

Quick question about the dog creatures, is it just better to avoid them, have tried killing them over and over with the pick axe and 4 times out of 5 I just die.

EDIT: Forget the dogs...fffffuuuuuu...spiders!!!

I liked the Penumbra series, felt original and having to survive without weapons was nice.I didn't find them or Amnesia that scarey but i guess that's due to watching too much Korean horror films.:p

I thought Amnesia's insanity system/effects/music went extremely well with the game and i enjoyed it more than the Penumbra series mainly due to the era it was set in.

Hope they make more games like these as they are very rare and all we mainly get these days is continious fps games.
