Okay so I see many threads about my tubing's stained my blocks stained e.c.t

Several things here as to why not only is it not worth worrying about but also using your own brain to avoid getting paranoid about it happening.

1. Fluids have DYE in them or you add DYE to make the colors, DI water / H2O is clear by default, its like moaning that your plastic mixing spoon has changed color when using food dye in cake mixes e.c.t

2. Tubing come's in tonnes of colors so you can run DI water and have a snazzy looking system without having staining.

3. Oh no my tubing is stained from XYZ branded coolant, sorry but this is the bit that makes me laugh the most.

Tubing is around £5 quid for some new stuff, if you can't afford it why are you water cooling in the first place ? and it takes 10mins of your time to re cut and install new tubing if you can't be bothered to do this why did you build a custom PC in the first place ?

4. People cleaning staining off blocks ( NOT including Res ) whats the point ? Breaking the seal on a block voids your warranty, IF the block is blocked and / or is not operating send it back under warranty.

The only thing I can see that could possibly be a valid issue is the staining of RES, but I Can't see anywhere on any of these products saying Its stain proof or anything ( Res & fluids )

Regardless if your going to put a new fluid in your system your going to flush out all your rads and blocks its not going to kill you to re do the tubing now is it on the scale of things.

yes, I think new people just have a valid concern as its something to consider.

Will it stain? Yes......so I need to make sure I buy new tubing for it if I decide to change fluid colour or for when I flush it.

Cleaning the CPU block isnt necessary, but what if you have a clear plexi GPU Block? Staining that would look awful and would have to be a consideration on what block you chose in the first place.

People asking are just new to it and it helps them make decisions when planning what to buy in the first place.

I think also some people get dye staining and dye separation mixed up. Staining shouldn't effect anything other than cosmetics while separation can cause clogs and take its toll on performance.

Though these days separation is pretty much a non-issue with good pre-mix fluid such as Mayhems. I also only noticed any staining with mayhems if I drained the system and left some fluid to dry up in a block, nothing a wipe down didn't fix.

I also tend to change out tubing quite often, changed around 4 times this year so far, any clear tubing I have used with mayhems has come out relatively un-stained.

I 100% agree with the fact if replacing tubing to the cost of ~£10 is too much for you, you probably shouldn't be watercooling, its far from a cheap hobby.

No staining does happen esp with colours such a UV pink, UV Red and this has plagued the water cooling scene from day 1 on this problem how ever this is all so a problem that cannot be fixed as of yet due to the make up of the dyes them self.

If a user wishes to have colour and not stain there system then we can sugest just a few colours. There are as follows

UV Clear Blue
Blue (keep it light)
UV Yellow green
Purple
Red on its own with no UV Additive

All so be pro active. Check the PH of your liquids If they are not between PH 6.5 / 8 then you are asking for trouble. The perfect balance is PH 7. Acid liquid will promote staining and this is when Dyes start doing what they are supposed to do and that is stain. A very good indicator that some thing is not right is when use Red it will turn purple this is telling you that your liquid is acid. Red is unbelievably sensitive to the PH of your liquids.

Always flush your equipment properly i know that acids are used in producing rad's and are in solder to help aid in joining metals. If this is still in the system when you first build it and have not flushed out your system then it will have a direct impact on liquids in your system. If you flush with any type of acid such as sys clean, Vinegar or Lemon then you need to neutralise that acid afterwards and one simple way is to use Bicarb to do this.

Mayhems can only do so much to aid you but you the user are ultimately responsible for looking after your system.

I see your point, but saying it takes 5 minutes to change the tubing is laughable - do you not do a dry test or remove any bubbles?

The opening your blocks and warranty, that warranty is only applicable to the watertight seal is it not?

I've taken apart my GPU blocks and RMA'ed them without any seal.

X1 black is fine, pastel black we still haven't finished stain testing as its still in a loop from 8 months ago, it has another 4 months left before we rip it apart..

Two bits of tube from my set up, both had X1 in it ( Masterkleer )

Top one is after a month and had DI water through it to clear it out.

Bottom one, just taken out today ( no DI water to clean it )

Warranty won't cover staining, that's not up to manufacturer of the block to sort out, if anything, it's whoever made the fluid and only if they said it wouldn't stain. The seal is a leak proof warranty (with EK anyway), you can still RMA the block, just not for leaks.

PS - the irregularity of your spacing hurts my eyes :(

Does This Hurt Your Eyes Also? :D
