Hey all.
I sometimes play BF3 with my brother.
We use Skype, which works well for two people, or even more.

What are the best applications for in-game chat?

I bet they have come a long way since I used to get annoyed at kids talking in BF2!

Thanks.

Mumble.

Although Skype works, it lacks the finesse of Mumble regarding background noise filtering and general lack of options full stop.

When we last had a vote on here for the OcUK official voip server, Mumble won by a fair margin.

I've used all clients the major bits of software extensively and Mumble is definitely the best choice in terms of quality and responsiveness. Some people prefer Vent/TS for ease of setup though.

Mumble is the daddy. It's quite bizarre when you first swap to it from long time TS/Vent use, you don't notice how much latency/delay there is on those two programs until you use mumble for the first time and the speed in which someone responds to what you've just said takes you by surprise :o

Mumble are the goodest, for latency reasons.
TS3 has some plus points though like being able to attenuate individual users from your side.
