Perfect Gin and Tonic?

The mrs is a fan of G&T's, however we recently went to spain and she had what she claimed was the best one she's ever had.

I believe it was made with Hendricks and Fentimans Tonic along with some lime and mint.
The bar tended (well away from tables) seemed to be pouring the tonic in with some weird swirly metal thing.

Do things like the above actually make a difference? I'm more of a put booze in a glass with ice and nothing else type guy but wouldnt mind making an effort for her
 
Cheers guys, she's not a fan of Gordons gin, she always used to like Bombay Sapphire but recently tried it with Hendricks and was a fan.
