I’ve been watching the market for the last six months and I’m now able to call it (don’t take my word for it though, I’m often wrong). High value sports cars are dropping like stones, some brands are in free fall.

Take the McLaren 570S. Six weeks ago, the base level for this car was a strong 130k. About four weeks back that became 110k and today I know of cars in dealers for low 90k! That is some drop. GT3/GT4 are now below list and I suspect will be dropping Q1 to make them sensible again and Aston, Ferrari and others are all heading down outside the low volume high value stuff.

I think a cheeky 80 something bid will get you into a MK2 R8 Plus too and suspect M cars and AMG’s will be on their way down. The market has topped and is now finally heading south. You heard it here last! :D

(All of this might be wrong, please take with a pinch of salt but the chatter seems to support it this time!)

As its the clubsport and has pccb brakes I was gonna go 75k, but its got some miles on it, 16k miles, may offer then a cheeky 70k.
If you’re a cash buyer and ready to go tell them that. They may not cave on the day or at all, but the following week will tell you that and if they call you back.

I feel like this happened about 6ish years ago too before the latest generation of performance cars were released and things suddenly starting holding value again.

I suppose if things don't sell, the prices have to fall!
Lots of people been calling it for 2+ years but they have remained firm and I am told at the serious end still are. But the entry level supercar / proper sports car and suspect Uber saloons are bathing

I’d expect low 50 bids on mine right now too. I will sell private and if I can get into 60’s then I’ll be happy as Larry

Many dealers not buying cars right now, to much stock so if you have a trade in it will be auction pricing or thanks but not thanks. It’s the time to be buying if you’re in a position to do so for next 2-3 months. Prices will straighten I think into spring as people look for summer fun.

Picking up a Performante this afternoon. :D
Nice. I think of all the cars out there presently within range, that holds the most appeal but I struggle to feel comfy in Lambo's due to their long rake screens and seating portion. The Aventador made me feel very claustrophobic and I really had to get out of it quickly. It's a real thing and why I struggle in the back of cars and can't get in the back of a 2 door. That to one side, they look sensational, sound sensational and go sensational. Should be sensational I guess then! Good work.

I would have personally have thought your R8 would be worth some extra simply for been a Plus and in red as most R8's are in dull boring colours, the brighter colours seem quite rare which is a shame as it really suits them.
Also having been owned by an internet sensation and someone who can eat 3 Shredded Wheat, that must surely add to its value as well. I mean, 300 follows on Twitter, not everyone can claim that.

I think advertised prices bare little resemblance to selling prices, not least when they have been dealer ornaments for 6 months. Discounts on new Porsches are a thing, even GT cars I believe. There are always some garages in some places who have 'their customers' who can maintain higher prices because those customers always buy from said dealership and don't like to be seen to get into dirty discount discussions because they don't need to.

There is a lot of hate for Porsche (GT car brown envelopes), Ferrari (if you want one of these good ones then first but a California) and McLaren (lack of support for customers and 2nd hand markets), at the moment and many people are looking forward to getting their backsides kissed by dealers who wouldn't even let them in for a coffee 6 months ago or who were 'busy' when they walked in to buy a car. I am not one of those, but I know many people who have started to get the calls and have told dealers to 'go **** yourselves'.

I'm glad I got out of my 650S spider two summers ago, whilst it still worth something and just before the used prices went into freefall.

Regarding the 570S; I've not heard of any expensive battery issues, providing you keep on a trickle charger, but the thing to look out for is corrosion on the body panel edges - they all seem to suffer from it at some point and it can take an age to resolve.
The thing is with Mclaren, they are fantastic cars to drive, but they just seem interested in selling more and more new cars and not doing a very good job of supporting the used ones (not enough main dealers and they won't allow indies), which makes the residuals fall through the floor.
I've heard that McLaren dealers won't bid on 12C and 650S cars any more.
What's going to happen to 570S prices when all the pcp cars, some with guaranteed residuals, come back onto the market?
That sums up McLaren's issue and the PCP cars are all starting to turn up. I was close to a 570S a month back but current market flux made me stop. I am now waiting to see what happens as I am in no rush to change the R8 so can go when I am ready to go.
