Hi

am considering upgrading my setup to pcie with an MSI NF4 Platinum motherboard and a x1900xt but keeping rest of current setup. Have been looking around for reviews etc comparing performances of x800xtpe to x1900xt but have not found any; I realise that there is quite a leap between the two but would like to see some stats.

If someone knows of a site please could they provide me with a link.

Many thanks.

Many thanks to you both for supplying the links - now just have to go through the phase of convincing myself that I should spend that much money on a pcb, will take a couple weeks but i'm sure I will convince myself in the end.

Jimbo Mahoney - could you please keep me posted on your experiences and opinions with receiving your new card.

Wow - goes to show X1800XT 256Mb is a faster card then some of the nvidia flavours in terms of benchmarking but like always depending on the game it can still favour either way depending on the game. 512 version can just power through at times.

Hello mate, I recently upgraded from a k8n neo2 plat and x800xt-pe@550/590 to dfi ultra d and x1900xt. i kept the [email protected] but also upgraded 1 gig geil ultra plat pc4200 to 2 gig gskill zx3200.

I see a lot of difference in FEAR and Q4. Fear is playable at 1600 with everything on max + 2xaa 16xaf and Q4 flies at ultra, 1600 with same aa/af. before I was playing these at 1024 and 1280 respectively.

Is it really worth the extra money for the xt-x as tbh i'm struggling to save for the new motherboard and x1900xt so another £50 is quite a bit - and part of me refuses to pay £400+ for a video card. Do you think overclockers will have xt-x's for £350ish inc anytime soon?

many thanks for replies

You could easily overclock the X1900XT to XTX speeds and beyond. XTX's are just for bragging rights.

I doubt the prices will go down tbh.

Just get the X1900XT in that case. Will be a very nice upgrade. :)
