Performance increase ?

Hey guys,

Just wondered if i would notice a performance increase if i added another stick of RAM 2GB to this system ?

Asus M4A78 AMD 770 (Socket AM3/AM2+) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
OCZ ModXStream Pro 600w Silent SLI Certified Modular Power Supply
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 7750 2.70GHz (Socket AM2+)
Kingston HyperX 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 6400C4 800MHz Dual Channel (KHX6400D2LLK2/4G)

Gonna be the same make and model RAM ?

buy my freinds PC isn't being used and thought i can grab it from there for a bit ?

4gb is plenty for most things, how often do you reach 100% RAM usage?

I have 4GB and I don't think I've ever reached 100%.

TBH i've never looked the only thing i use this comp for Internet, World Of Warcraft and a lot of films really lol

Would a new CPU help an increase in performance ?

For WOW...yes you will see improvement on frame rate. Grab a Phenom II X2 550BE/555BE or Phenom II X4 955 (depending on your budget) and a decent CPU cooler to overclock the CPU to 3.8GHz may be.

Yep, try it with 4GB RAM and a new CPU if you've got the money spare, the AM3 phenom CPUs are a lot nicer than the one you have atm. 2nd hand Phenom 720s are quite good value currently.

£25-£35 may be, considering people can get Athlon II X2 245 new for under £50.

What graphic card you using by the way?

Another 2gb will slow it down as it will go into single channel mode. 4gb is plenty at the mo.
