i have Vista 64bit and my pc is fast. im just wondering if i can do anything to help?

i have been using all windows built in defrag/cleaner

i used to use CCleaner/Perfectdisk on XP are they any good on vista?

pc spec is
I7 3.6Ghz 6GB 1333mhz 280GTX SLI

Yes, cleaning up temp files etc with ccleaner or comodo system cleaner is a good idea [though I personally don't think so-called reg cleaning is neccessarily a good thing].

Perfectdisk is a very good option for defragging although so are the freeware apps UltimateDefrag and JKdefrag.

Vista is less 'tweakable' than previous OS's, but the one thing that made the biggest difference on my relatively cack laptop was tweaking indexing options. On your rig this is unlikely to have any impact.

Yes CCleaner is brilliant. Works fine on Vista. I use it on Vista x64 with no problems. I would agree with Ratbag on the reg cleaning. Doesn't seem to be effective any more so don't bother. I also use Defraggler for my defragging needs (bit of a Piriform groupie! :p).

Could try turning all the visual effects off, not sure how much it will help on vista though
There's an installer that I had to use fairly often a while ago. When it ran it pitched my Vista into a non-Aero theme for the duration of the install. Most of it looked rubbish but I actually like the title bar looked.

i went in to system performance hit optimize for best performance big difference, i then just enabled basic vista skin back on and it flys :D dropped ram usage by 5% to.
