performance wise, how do these two systems compare?

ok, out of these two systems, how does one stack up to the other.

the first system is a fairly new budget 'web browsing' pc:

AMD Sempron 2.8ghz (AM2)
1gb DDR2 667mhz (2x 256mb 1x 512mb)
5400rpm SATA HDD w' XP Home 32bit
Integrated Nvidia 6100 graphics

the second system is a 8 year old 'ex gaming computer'

Intel Pentium 4 Northwood 2.8 @ 3.0ghz
2gb DDR 333mhz @ 400mhz (2x 1gb)
5400rpm IDE HDD w' 7 Home Premium 32 bit
Dedicated ATI Radeon 9550 pro 256mb (it used to have an 8500xtx super oc, but it fried)

sorry i should have been more clear

they wont be used for gaming at all, just for my grandad to use for browsing the web and writing letters.

The top one is his computer (he got seriously ripped off because he didnt take my advice) and the bottom one is one of my systems which i have kicking around.

I was just wondering which would be better for general use (for him)
