Periscope my parents a camera...

Just for snaps, can be fully auto.

Must support SD, CF, memory stick etc.

Preferrably an opical zoom but not essential.

Compact, decent battery life.

Pixel count, don't mind - I assume most are fine for normal print sizes these days.

£100-130 for the camera, I'll get SD\whatever seperatly.

Casio Exilims are very good cameras and they are very compact, basically a fat credit card. Here's a review http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/specs/Casio/casio_exs600d.asp

They go for about £150 brand new from some e-tailors

Think I've decided on an Ixus 60 - seems to fit the bill. £163 with a 512meg SD card thrown in. Slightly over budget but what the hell

I'd rather get them a decent make than some unknown branded crap that will die in 6 months.
