Getting completely confused with Vista permissions - I like the idea of it stopping people running things without me knowing, but more often than not it just stops me from doing things I want to do.

Last night I tried to copy a folder into the default 'Videos' folder under my profile and it said I didn't have permission. I thought my profile I created was an admin, and if not then surely I have permission to create a new folder in my own Videos area?! :(

Even as an administrator some sub directories under documents and settings don't have write access by default. You can change the permission though.

Just turn "user account control" off does you head right thats what i did first day of my vista install and all's well.
