Permissions problem

I'm kinda embarassed to ask this, it seems really trivial, but it's got me stumped.

Basically, most domain users don't have the right to write to the root of the local hard drive. I want one specific user to be able to do this, but I can't see anything in group policy.

Any ideas?

how many boxen do you need the user to be able to write to? if it's just one or 2 - set perms manually?

If it's more than that script it and roll the script out with gp?

(a dirty hack, I know - but should do the job)

or give that user local admin rights on the PCs he needs to write to.

admin tools>domain security policy>filesystem?

just guessing - i haven't tried it.

that's a dirtier hack than mine!

Users should never have admin unless they absolutely need them.
