Persistent lock-ups with black screen... please help

I've done loads of IBT and OCCT runs over the weekend and it's passed them all without a hitch.

Just done the first FurMark run (with fans manually set at 95%):

Going to try the same test with fans on automatic...

10 minute burn-in test followed by 1080 benchmark preset. Fans on auto.

Even though the GPU temps got up to 86C the fans only spun up to 60%...

So the box isn't locking up/black screening? What you want to do is totally stress the GPU - crank everything to max (you do have the fastest GPU in the world of course), and see if that can make it fall over...

No I haven't had a black screen (or any other kind of crash) since Friday lunchtime and my PC has been on almost constantly since then, either running stress tests or playing Dragon Age II (which, with DX11 and everything set to Very High, is a stress test in its own right).

With the MSI Afterburner fan profile that I set up last night maximum GPU temps, even after prolonged 100% loads, are now 78C.

Sounds good - regardless of stability or any other issues, a good fan profile will extend the life of your 590 - those cards are consistently hot. Let's hope the stability lasts. :cool:
