Its actually Oswald Book, Thanks for the advice , it could probably work next to the text as well. I think I need to work on the weight of the "design" text when I get home.

Here we go, @gord - thats ITC Franklin Gothic LT Medium Condensed, I stretched it a bit and slightly beveled the corners.

I have added some weight and size to the design part so it is more visible.

I have slightly extended the F so its closer to the pencil and the tip of the pencil is now and equal distance from the top of the D...

does this look a bit better guys?

No doubt you will end up wanting to do a new one in a few weeks. I always find it hard developing a logo for myself, and then keeping that logo.

some others have advised me to remove the gradient totally, think I will give that a try and then maybe make some variations of colors with say a paint brush tip instead of a pencil with blue etc and see what else I can come up with
