On an application for the armed forces Im required to have two references. One professional, the other personal. Now for the personal reference it states that it must be somebody who I have seen in the last six months, who has standing in the community and I have known for more than a year. Obviously this person cannot be family.

I personally cannot think of anybody who I have spoken to in the last six months who meets those requirements.

I know some of you one here have been in the armed forces or are still serving. Hence why I have asked here.

Who would you consider to have standing in the community?

Are you sure you need two? Which branch are you applying for? I only needed one for the Army.

Well, it used to be the local priest or policemen, but that's hardly appropriate these days.

The only thing I can suggest is someone at work who knows you personally.
