I know it's pushing it now and I wont go into the reasons why it's been left so late, i'm just looking for some tips and advice writing mine.

Any advice will be appreciated. I've just added my statement in my latest post.

That's going to be quite tough to write a specific statement. I only chose one particular course at several universities, it meant I could revolve my statement around the course specifics, you're going to have to give a very general one :(

This has been of some concern to me and i'm considering changing my selection, I'm looking for a career in networking/internet (security more specifically).

The problem i've had is that not many paticularly good universities are offering what I wanted, so i've changed the course slightly to fit in with a better uni, essentially they are quite similar. I'm not sure if this is a good or bad idea.

Since my first key stroke at an early age I have been fascinated and intrigued by computer systems. Initially I learned volumes by resolving hardware and software issues without any assistance. This would not have been possible without my determined mindset and desire to solve a given problem. The entirety of my computing knowledge was self taught until I entered further education.

As my understanding has grown I have become increasingly interested in computer networks and the internet. Having established both wired and wireless networks in a home environment I am eager to build on this and further my education accordingly. I was also made aware of my interest in the theoretical side of networking through a communication technology module, I am currently looking forward to a further networking module next year. I find the entire subject amazing, from the concept and initial design to the implementation; I remain captivated throughout. Perhaps similarities can be drawn from a keen interest in team based sports and activities. A team will only function effectively if every individual is performing their task as required, a computer network and the operation of its individual components is essentially the same. The development of internet tools and applications also appeals greatly to me. Eventually I aim to carve a career in the aforementioned area of computing with an ambition to ultimately specialise in network security.

My diplomatic qualities and communication skills are but two of many positive character traits. I also pride myself in my punctuality and ability to meet deadlines. Another one of my passions is writing, through the study of literature I have gained a strong analytical proficiency.

Computing aside, I enjoy a number of recreational activities. Playing regular football and attending a local fitness centre provides not only enjoyment but also gives the added benefits of regular exercise.

With anticipation I wait for the experience of university, but it is with eagerness I wait for the challenges it has to offer.

I can't think of any more to add. Opinions and advice are welcomed as I have left it paticularly late.
