I'm having thoughts about becoming a personal trainer/gym instructor. Do we have anyone here who is trained in this fields?

I'm trying to figure out which courses or companies would be best to go with in getting a good and respected base and qualification to use in the future.

Do the PTC course with the Active IQ L2/L3 bolt-on. The latter gives you the nationally recognised qualification that would allow you to work in various chain gyms, the former throws away all the terrible things they teach in the official qualification and instead you learn the actual evidence-based stuff, along with things like business/marketing in order to actually do the job well. It's much more comprehensive than many PT courses which can be done in a week or two and sets you up much better to succeed than those.

It's a saturated and not very profitable market.

Yes there are anomalies where you have a few who make good money but the majority won't.

Plus gyms will be lucky enough to allow members back in never mind hire more personal trainers.

You will in certain areas of affluence no doubt have lots of clients but the majority know how to go into a gym and do a workout and nutrition is the most important factor to losing weight and gaining muscle.

A lot of people take a like minded friend with them to the gym and they push each other and do every workout together.

It's not something that will earn a decent living unless you have a very good body yourself and you market yourself well.

And by that a six pack and bulging muscles is a must.

@Somnambulist thanks for your input. I've looked at the training there and got a couple of other training providers from a friend who is a PT.

@Psycho Sonny I know it's a fairly saturated market, but I'm not planning to use the PT section as my main work, it is something I want to have as part of my future career plans. It is also a way for me to get myself into a better physical position as well. And I wouldn't be doing this course this year, I'm aiming for something after next summer as I got a few other things I need to finalize before then.
