Personalised License Plate

My old man has said I can have the personalised plates from his car, question is - How do I go about registering them to my car? I'm aware of a fee, I think it's £80 right? I couldn't find much info on the DVLA site or am I just being carp?

You new plate should be

F4 ILS.

It's basically my surname minus one letter.

The problem was I just went straight to the DVLA Registrations website which has no information about transferring plates (that I could find).

All the info is on direct.gov.uk but if you're not computer literate

then your post office will give you a form and tell you what you need to do.
