Hi overclockers! I’m in the process of planning a gaming rig build and want to go with a full Perspex case to show off the guts (u.v water cooling, sli ect.) and was wondering if any one has any plans for a case like this.
I have access to a laser cutting machine at work and have been given the go-ahead to do this as a foreigner.
Any input on this would be great as it’s in the early stages atm and I’m looking for some designs to have a play around with!
Thanks

You are about 10 years too late. Not many people use full acrylic cases anymore because you can't hide anything and all that wiring looks so ghastly.

Windows are more the thing these days.

There was a thread about clear acrylic cases in the last day or so.

You'd expect the process of building with acrylic to be similar to that of working with any other material, just easier to cut but also easier to crack and damage.

I agree it can look quite messy if done wrong and the fact not many people do it, makes it all the more appealing to me! XD and cracking and dammage is not a problem as the machining of the material is very easy for me (i know for a fact we use simular machines to the ones used to produce the Danger den cases). really im just looking for anyone that has done this befor and a brucy bonus would be some plans!

Actually ive seen very well laid out perspex builds.. the real problem was they look fantastic for the first 6 months.. then they start getting dust and dirt trapped in places very awkward to clean. If youre going to go through with it i would make sure you have good access to cleaning the inside. A small compressor would be great :p

yeh, true! but i have no limmetations on how big i make this so hopefully i can make it look pretty sweet and not to squished up!

any one out there with a case like this... if so id like to hear what you think about them!!

The only decent build I have seen in an acrylic case was ORAC (google it). Form over function though as airflow was none existent!!
