Hi all i just recently got back from an amazing trip in peru! i spent 3 weeks in total traveling to 3 main areas, Lima, Cusco and Manu(Amazon rainforest)

all 3 places offered vast different types of scenery and climate.

The gear i used for the trip:

  • Canon 5d3
  • Sony A7r2
  • Zeiss Batis 25mm sony
  • Zeiss 55mm Sony
  • Samyang 14mm Sony
  • Canon 70-200 F2.8 mk2
  • Sigma 35mm f1.4 Canon

I went with 2 camera setups as i wasnt sure how the a7r2 would hold up in the rainforest(it did fine) and i brought the 70-200 for reach in the rainforest but it actually proved to be VERY useful for my landscape shots and the Init Ramyi carnival i attended(pics below).

It was at times a pain to lug all that around especially above 3500m sea level but the pain and suffering and moaning from my missus was well worth it in the end.

It is such a photographers wet dream that country. You turn a corner and there is a photo opportunity everywhere you go!

Here are a few shots taken .

I will post more as i am still editing them

The below shots where taken from Sacret Valley, Cusco and Macchu pitchu

A few from Peru taken with my 5d3.

Stunning pictures, thanks for sharing.

How much spending money roughly for a trip like this?

600 for flight and about 2/3k for 3 weeks over there going to the usual suspects plus food/accomodation.

Mind you we stayed at a 5 star hotel during our last 4 days there.

A lot of the places are scattered around peru and places like the amazon rainforest is not cheap as you need a minimum 4 days to stay there.

Great shots, takes me back as I went there almost 10 years ago. Machu Picchu is a quite remarkable place, I climbed Huayna Picchu and the view from the top was incredible. Even thinking about it now makes me quite emotional, it's something I will never forget.

Some stunning photos there!! Brings back good memories of my own High Inca Trail trip 2 years ago - such stunning landscapes ... will have to see about having a play with any of my own photos now I have a copy of Lightroom 6!
